Turbo records asked me to make a podcast of some records I like with talking in between, like a radio programme. I quite enjoyed doing it so I thought I'd share the programme here as well, and if people like it I'll do some more.
The idea isn't to play rare stuff or to show off my amazing music knowledge, just to play some music I like, mostly from my childhood and teenage years, and chat about it a bit.
nice work Ed! yeah i still got that K-Tel Chart Hits 83 you mentioned (vol.2 to be precise!)and most of the others you mention. reminds me of good times, good beats plus you're 'narration' has a nice natural flow. may i be the first to congratulate you on your opening foray into the world of blogging and podcasting - do us another one! ;-) cheers, Gutter
You could make it more old school by fading out the volume and fading in some white noise every so often, thus re-creating that classic pirate radio feel.
that was prime mate. I particularly enjoyed the bit where you say you were holding your self back in Turnkey from going waaaaaab wwwwaaaaab waaab waaab, wwaaaawaaaab waaaaab waaaaab waaaaab!! to Joey Beltram : ) Its a nice show keep it up mate.
& some lines from the Erik B and Rakim track lyrics are on a t shirt i bought about 4 years ago. Il be seeing you @ bloc mate we are the cambridge/norfolk wing of BLOCers! peace
